Sunnmore is a folk museum of the Norwegian coastal culture. It has the collection of old houses and vast boat collection from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century.
The large stone church was built in 1909 by the architect Sverre Knudsen. It has the unique inner decor with gorgeous carved wood.
The town has an unusually consistent architecture, most of the buildings having been built between 1904 and 1907 in the Art Nouveau style, as the town was rebuilt after the intense fire in 1904.
