About
The Old Town of Aarhus - also known as Den Gamle By - is a place to learn about history, traditions, and way of life in old-time Denmark. This open-air museum is located in central Aarhus Botanical Gardens and offers a great insight into town culture, rather than village traditions. Open in 1917, this museum consists of 75 historical buildings collected from 20 townships in all parts of the country.

It is the oldest public art museum in Denmark outside of Copenhagen. ARoS has a large art collection with works from the Golden Age until today.
