Nyhavn means a New Harbor, it is a 17th-century waterfront, canal and entertainment district, one of most beautiful areas of the city. It's famous for brightly colored 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. The canal harbors many historical wooden ships, which are definitely worth seeing.
Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid at the seashore is something you shouldn't miss. Bases on Andersen's story character; she appeared here in the beginning of the 20th century and since then had become the symbol of Copenhagen and Denmark. Kongens Nytorv (New Kings square) is located at the end of the Stroget street. It's the largest square of Copenhagen. Important buildings facing the square include the Royal Danish Theater, the Charlottenborg Palace (now the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts), the Thott Palace (now the French Embassy), the Hotel D'Angleterre and the Magasin du Nord department store.
Amalienborg castle

Amalienborgis the home of the Danish royal family. The palace is named after Amalia, the wife of Friederich the 3rd, who was the first one to here. It's unique because it isn't just a building, but a whole plaza, composed of the identical buildings, each named after different kings of Denmark with Friederich 5th statue in the middle. The green embankment in front of the palace complex had the great view on the Ekvipagemestervej opera theater.
