Kröpeliner Straße is Rostok's main pedestrian street, that begins at the historical Market square and runs east to the14th-century Kröpeliner Tor , a former town gate. All Rostok's important buildings can be found around this street, including the University and Town Hall.

Rostock town hall was originally built in the 13th century in Brick Gothic style, but extensively transformed in the 18th century, with the addition of a Baroque façade and a banqueting hall. It's one of the town's main attractions, reminding of town's "golden" Hanseatic age.

Kröpeliner Tor is located in the east end of Kröpeliner Straße. It's one of the oldest remaining gates of Germany, dating to 1270. The observation spot on the top offers the great panorama of the city center.

New Market Square in Rostock has preserved six original, carefully restored gable houses from the 15th and 16th centuries. The other historical houses in Hanseatic style that once bordered the square were destroyed in an Allied air-raid in 1942, and rebuilt in a simplified manner.

This tour is offered for Warnemuende arrivals only (P1-2, P7, P8) and cannot be provided for clients docking in Rostock port (i.e. LP31, LP41)

Due to the join-in group nature of this tour and a substantial amount of walking involved, it is NOT Suitable for :

  • Persons using a wheelchair/scooter
