Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral stands out from the old town buildings with its bright color and Byzantine architecture. It's one of the latest constructions of the old city, build by the request of Russian Emperor Alexander the 3rd in the 1900. It's located on the high point of the Toompea Hill in front of the Parliament building.

The fascinating walls of the old town remind us of the middle ages. The numerous towers each have their own history and the unique name. The most famous of those are "Paks Margareeta" ( Fat Margaret ), Kiek in de Kök ( look into the kitchen ), Tower behind the tower and many others.

The Three Sisters

Three Sisters are 3 identical houses, located in the northern part of the old town on the main street. These are the traditional houses of the merchants. There are 3 similar buildings on Riga, called the “3 brothers”.

Dome Church

The Dome Church is one of the oldest churches of Tallinn. The church looks very simple with the white walls and small dome, but it has the very long history. It was first mentioned in 1233 and since than it has been one of town's main temples. It's dedicated to Virgin Mary.

Europe's oldest pharmacy

Raeapteek (Town Hall Pharmacy) is one of the oldest continuously running pharmacies in Europe, having always been in business in this same house since the early 15th century. It is also the oldest commercial enterprise and the oldest medical establishment in Tallinn. It's located next to the Town Hall and still preserves the charming medieval spirit.

Saint Olaf's Church

The white tower of St. Olaf's church is the most recognizable landmark of Tallinn. The 123 meter high spire is still the highest structure in the town (except for the TV tower). It's the most popular observation spot of the city. The church is frequently used for the concerts.

The tour starts with a 5-10 minute transfer to the city center (Old Tallinn). The center is divided into the Upper Town and Lower Town and includes many medieval sights. One of the first places you will see in the city is the Fat Margaret Tower and the Great Coastal Gate. In the Upper Town you will visit Merchant houses, St. Olaf's Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Three Sisters House, which now is a well-known and comfortable 5-star hotel. Together with your guide, you will continue to the Dome Church and will enjoy panorama over the city from Toompea Hill. This tour is not only about medieval history of Estonia's capital, it also features a lot of information about modern citizens of the most digital countries in the world. You will also hear some locals' tips.
11:15 - 13:15
The tour ends in the city center and your guide specifies the pick-up place and time for the return transfer. You will have around 2 hrs of free time to continue your explore this Baltic capital all by yourselves.
13:15 - 13:30
Transfer back to the port of Tallinn. If you wish, you can stay in Old Town longer and either walk back to the ship or take a taxi there.
