Basilica of the Holy Blood is located in a corner of the Burg square. It consists of two churches: a Romanesque lower church and a Neo-gothic upper church. The last one preserves the relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. 

83-meters tall, the Belfort is the most important Bruges’ tower. During the Middle Ages, it kept the city’s charters, seal and public funds. These days, the Belfry is famous for a Carillion with 47 melodious bells and a panoramic deck with a breathtaking view of Bruges.
