Saint Petersburg
The major cruise port of St. Petersburg is located on the island, 30 minutes drive from the city center. The port area is very large and has very strict security. There is a public bus connection to the city, but service is irregular. Smaller boats dock at the Neva embankment with the view of the Hermitage.
Passengers of 2- or 3-day cruises may travel to Moscow for 1 day. Please note that the tour is at least 11 hours long.
Remember that Russia is the only Baltic country with a strict visa policy. Cruise passengers may tour visa-free, but their passport details must be submitted to the immigration office not later than 3 days prior to the tour. Even if the boat is docked in the city center, you still must be listed at the immigration for every tour you take.
